(April 8) – The House gave voice-vote approval today to the Advanced Industries Export Accelerator Act, part of the House Democrats’ package of bills to accelerate the state’s economy and connect more Coloradans to good jobs.
HB13-1193, sponsored by Reps. Tracy Kraft-Tharp (D-Arvada) and Mike McLachlan (D-Durango), would provide matching seed money, up to $15,000, to help qualifying Colorado advanced-industries businesses develop an export operation. The program would include training and consultation services through the state Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
Eligible companies would be in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, bioscience, electronics, energy and natural resources, infrastructure engineering, and information technology.
“We want to export products, not our jobs,” Rep. Kraft-Tharp told the House. “This bill helps our advanced industries here in Colorado to move to the next level.”
