(May 24) – Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a bipartisan bill today to continue the Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) to help Colorado businesses grow.

HB13-1301, sponsored by Reps. Su Ryden (D-Aurora) and Bob Gardner (R-Colorado Springs), continues the Colorado PTAC program, which offers education, counseling and technical assistance to entrepreneurs to compete for government contracts. The bill also creates a task force to evaluate procurement strategies in other states, discuss management practices, develop a public-private partnership and develop a plan for the long-term funding of the centers.

“This program has been proven highly successful, and with the governor’s signature, this program will continue,” Rep. Ryden said. “It’s important that we continue to adapt this program to a changing environment, and that’s why we are creating a task force to make sure we have a program that works best to keep those jobs coming to Colorado.”
