(July 23) – Rep. Leroy Garcia (D-Pueblo) has been was honored by the Colorado Farm Bureau, which gave him its Pinnacle Award in recognition of his “support on issues vital to Colorado agriculture.”

Four legislators, one from each party in each chamber, were recipients of the highest legislative award given by Colorado Farm Bureau. Also receiving awards at the Farm Bureau’s midsummer meeting Tuesday in Pagosa Springs were Rep. Bob Rankin (R-Carbondale) and Sens. Lois Tochtrop (D-Thornton) and Greg Brophy (R-Wray).

“I’m honored to be recognized with these distinguished legislators,” Rep. Garcia said after the event. “We share a deep commitment to Colorado’s farmers.”

“We truly appreciate the support from these four legislators who were willing to be advocates for agriculture in the legislature,” Don Shawcroft, the Colorado Farm Bureau president, said in a release.
