(Nov. 20) – Speaker-designate Dickey Lee Hullinghorst, D-Boulder, named Ian Silverii today as her chief of staff.
“Ian is an outstanding organizer, has an excellent work ethic and brings tons of energy to the job,” the incoming speaker said. “And I admire a man with the moxie to shave his head. My biggest challenge as speaker will be telling Ian apart from Jonathan Singer and Christian Sederberg.”
Silverii (pronounced sil-VAIR-ee), whose appointment formally takes effect Dec. 1, succeeds David Oppenheim, who served two whirlwind years as Speaker Mark Ferrandino’s chief of staff and is getting out while he still has all his hair.
Silverii, 29, was raised in New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University. He has worked in the House Democratic office since 2010 and was deputy chief of staff in 2014, taking a break during the recently ended campaign season to run the House Majority Project, an arm of the Colorado Democratic Party.
