(Feb. 9) – Today, the House passed Rep. Janet Buckner and Rep. Paul Lundeen’s bill to help fix Colorado’s nursing shortage. The bipartisan HB18-1086 allows community colleges to offer a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
“This bill is going to address the real nursing shortage by allowing more access, flexibility and affordability for Colorado students to get their bachelor of science nursing degree,” said Rep Buckner, D-Aurora. “I thank my colleagues for their support of this commonsense legislation that will lead to the creation of more jobs for Coloradans in the nursing profession.”
After a recorded vote, the legislation will go to the Senate.
