(April 4) – Rep. Jessie Danielson’s bill to better connect Coloradans to vocational and technical training opportunities passed the House Education Committee today.
With the bipartisan sponsorship of Reps. Danielson, D-Wheat Ridge, and Phil Covarrubias, R-Brighton, HB18-1341 would create a directory of apprenticeships and vocational technical training programs in Colorado that may be accessed by students, guidance counselors, parents, workforce development councils and any Coloradan seeking a better-paying career.
“Expanding access to apprenticeship and vocational technical training opportunities is vital to Colorado’s economic future,” Rep. Danielson said. “By creating more opportunities to find vocational technical training and apprenticeships, we are creating more paths to secure, good-paying jobs for those who aren’t going to college, while making Colorado workers and businesses more competitive in the global economy.”
HB18-1341 passed on a 7-6 party-line vote and is headed to the Appropriations Committee.
