(April 13) – Rep. Jessie Danielson’s bill to better connect Coloradans to vocational and technical training opportunities passed the House on second reading today.
“Colorado needs more trained workers and these apprenticeships pave a path to good-paying jobs in stable careers,” said Rep. Danielson, D-Wheat Ridge. “By creating more opportunities to find available vocational technical training and apprenticeships, we are helping give the same support and attention to students who may not be planning on college.”
Rep. Danielson’s bipartisan bill HB18-1341 would create a directory of apprenticeships and vocational technical training programs in Colorado that may be accessed by students, guidance counselors, parents, workforce development councils and any Coloradan seeking a better-paying career.
The House gave preliminary approval to the bill by voice vote. Upon a recorded vote, the bill will be referred to the Senate.
