The Colorado House Majority Office is looking for a talented communications intern to assist our State Representatives and/or Majority Office Staff during the 2018 interim and 2019 session. Working at the State Capitol is a unique opportunity to learn about communications, the legislative process and the intersection of law, politics, and public policy.

|Job Qualifications / Requirements:Throughout the course of the internship, participants will be asked to handle a wide variety of duties essential to our fast-paced press office. Candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and knowledge and experience with social media tools, and interest or experience in Colorado politics and public policy. Experience with video editing is also highly desirable. |
Responsibilities include:Assisting with monitoring news (TV, print, digital, radio) Assisting with the office’s day-to-day communications operationsDrafting written materials and social media content Creating video content and graphics Editing/producing video as needed Conducting research on specific issuesCommunications interns must be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and work well without constant supervision
Interns are expected to work at least 5-10 hours per week. Interns are unpaid volunteers. However, student internship credit can be arranged with your school. We are accepting applications for the interim (now-December) and/or for the 2019 legislative session (Jan.-May).
