Rep. Chris Kennedy
Chris Kennedy is the winner of a contest to succeed the term-limited Max Tyler in House District 23 in Lakewood. Rep. Kennedy will serve on the House Finance and Health, Insurance & Environment Committees.
Rep. Kennedy’s broad goals are to grow the middle class, invest in our public education system, expand our renewable energy economy and ensure equal rights and opportunities for all. He has said that as a state representative he will be dedicated “to find balance, compromise, and solutions that work as well as possible for as many people as possible.”
After launching a career as a structural engineer, he gravitated toward public service, volunteering for local candidates and campaigns. As an aide to Rep. Tyler as well as to Reps. Millie Hamner, Matt Jones and Jeanne Labuda; chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party; staffer for former Speaker Mark Ferrandino; and manager of the 2014 re-election campaign of Congressman Ed Perlmutter, Rep. Kennedy compiled an extensive record of policy and political experience before throwing his hat in the ring in House District 23.
Rep. Kennedy is a Colorado native and has master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Colorado
