AI Export Program Gets Off to a Rousing Start

(Dec. 4) – Colorado business executives jammed a conference room at the Warwick Hotel this afternoon to wrap up three days of events put on by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade to launch its Advanced Industries Export Accelerator Program.

The closing luncheon and discussion were hosted by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp (D-Arvada), who sponsored this year’s bill creating the Advanced Industries Export Accelerator Program. It will provide small grants, as well as training and consultation services, to help high-tech Colorado companies springboard onto the global marketplace.

“The size of the turnout and the enthusiasm of those who attended tell me we’re meeting an important need for Colorado businesses,” said Rep. Kraft-Tharp, who is vice chairwoman of the House Business, Labor, Economic & Workforce Development Committee. “This program will launch Colorado products around the world, bringing jobs to our state.”

Providing expert advice was John McAdams, the former vice chairman and chief operating officer of the US Export-Import Bank. McAdams was one the principal architects of United States’ export strategy and the creator of some of the very programs OEDIT intends to help Colorado companies tap into.

McAdams recently retired from the Ex-Im Bank and helped establish ExWorks Capital, a private firm helping small- to medium-sized businesses gain access to the capital needed to export their products.
