(Denver) –Rep. Angela Williams’ bill to make homeowners associations more transparent for homeowners was passed unanimously today by the House Local Government Committee.
HB12-1237 would clarify language in current statutes pertaining to homeowners associations by properly defining what records are public to homeowners and requiring HOAs to provide those records when a homeowner requests.
Rep. A. Williams said she was happy to receive such enthusiastic bipartisan support for the bill.
“This is a win-win piece of legislation with no opposition,” Rep. A. Williams said. “This is good for consumers and good for homeowners associations. Homeowners have a right to the records of their homeowners associations, and this bill provides clarity, transparency and efficiency to the governance of HOAs.”
