Extension of Job Growth Tax Credit Clears Committee

(Feb. 4) – The Business, Labor, Economic & Workforce Development Committee passed a bill sponsored by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp (D-Arvada) and Minority Leader Brian DelGrosso (R-Loveland) today with unanimous bipartisan support.

“During testimony we heard how important it is to keep Colorado competitive to attract new companies and jobs to our state,” Rep. Kraft-Tharp said. “This bill will continue this effective, evidence based policy and I am happy to work on this bipartisan legislation.”

The bill extends the length of time an employer may receive the tax credits from 5 years to 8 years and builds on a bill passed last legislative session.

“This will ensure Colorado is able to attract quality companies and the high paying jobs they provide,” Rep. Kraft-Tharp said.

HB14-1014 now heads to the Finance Committee.
