House OKs Pettersen Bill to Boost Concurrent Enrollment

(Feb. 5) – The House gave voice-vote approval this morning to Rep. Brittany Pettersen’s bill to improve notification to parents and guardians of their students’ opportunities for concurrent enrollment – courses that can be taken in high school that also earn college credit.

“Students who take advantage of concurrent enrollment opportunities are more likely to pursue a college education and graduate with less debt,” said Rep. Pettersen, D-Lakewood. “This bill helps students get a head start.”

Rep. Pettersen, chairwoman of the House Education Committee, sponsored HB18-1005 with Rep. Jon Becker, R-Fort Morgan. After a recorded third-reading vote, the bill will go to the Senate.
