Cathy Kipp is new a member of the Colorado House of Representatives serving House District 52. She served as an elected member of the Poudre School District Board of Education for 7 years prior to that.
She began her service to the Poudre School District as a mom when her kids were in Kindergarten and volunteered in a wide variety of roles for the school district prior to running to serve on the school board. Cathy has spent a lot of her spare time advocating for better funding and policies for public education.
Cathy grew up just north of Berkeley in California. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a degree in Computer and Information Science back in the dark ages of computing (1985). She moved to Fort Collins that same year. Cathy has been married to her husband Don for over 30 years. As a parent of twin boys (now 20 years old), she says she always does things once, but really intensely. She worked in the computer industry for 10+ years doing database design, administration and programming prior to giving it all up to have kids and embark upon a life of volunteer work.
