(March 22) – A bill sponsored by Rep. Daneya Esgar, D-Pueblo, to give hunters the option to wear fluorescent pink passed the House on third reading this morning and will now continue to the governor’s desk.
“This is a very simple bill that allows hunters to wear fluorescent pink in addition to orange,” said Rep. Esgar. “There’s actually evidence that it’s harder for deer to see pink and easier for humans so this bill is about hunters’ safety and options.”
Currently, a hunter is required to wear fluorescent orange to hunt elk, deer, pronghorn, moose, or black bear. SB16-068 adds the option to wear fluorescent pink. Wisconsin just passed a similar law.
The 58-5 vote sends the bill to the governor’s desk.
