Water Projects Bill Passes First Committee

(March 18) – The 2013 edition of the state’s annual effort to protect and conserve its most precious natural resource — water – advanced today when SB13-181 passed unanimously through the House Agriculture, Livestock & Natural Resources Committee

The bill, sponsored in the House by Rep. Randy Fischer (D-Fort Collins), makes appropriations for a variety of Colorado Water Conservation Board programs and projects. The lion’s share is pegged for the expansion of Chatfield Reservoir south of Denver.

“In a time of climate change and population growth, water projects are some of the wisest investments we can make,” Rep. Fischer said. “And they create jobs.”
