(Aug. 26) – Rep. Angela Williams (D-Denver) has been elected to the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures, the only nationwide organization focused on supporting, connecting and strengthening state legislatures.
Rep. Williams is the only Coloradan among the 30 legislators who sit on the NCSL Executive Committee, which brings together legislators and legislative staff members from around the country. She was elected at the NCSL’s Legislative Summit, held last week in Minneapolis.
“It’s an honor to represent Colorado, which is at the forefront on a variety of legislative issues,” Rep. Williams said. “Each state is special, but many state governments grapple with the same problems and concerns. Whether it’s learning about innovations in one state that may be applicable elsewhere, or missteps that should be avoided, the NCSL is a great forum for us to learn from one another.”
The Executive Committee is the governing body of the NCSL, supervising and controlling the affairs of the Conference, its committees and publications, as well as deciding the organization’s positions on matters of public policy. The Executive Committee meets four times a year.
