(Denver) – State Rep. Roger Wilson (D-Glenwood Springs) was appointed today by Gov. John Hickenlooper to the Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways Commission, which oversees more than 3,000 miles of the planet’s prettiest drives.
“I have three Scenic and Historic Byways in my district, and I’m on one of them right now,” said Rep. Wilson, who called in this afternoon from the West Elk Loop, which runs through House District 61 in Gunnison County. “Every road marked with the blue columbine sign is a treat. They make driving or riding in our state a favorite pastime for Coloradans and visitors from around the world, and I’m honored to help promote them.”
Scenic and Historic Byways are nominated by local partnership groups and designated by the Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways Commission for their exceptional scenic, historic, cultural, recreational and natural features.
