Karen McCormick
Karen attended the University of Florida obtaining a Bachelor’s in Agriculture and then her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Practicing veterinary medicine for over 33 years further strengthened her belief in the power of compassion. She ran her own successful small business here in Colorado serving the community with excellence in veterinary care for 16 years.
Volunteering for causes important to her community has been part of her life’s work; as an English teacher for the immigrant community, with non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting animal health, as a communications coach at the Vet School and as a member of Rotary International.
Karen grew up in a career Navy family with a father that served 30 years. She has service in her DNA and she is a problem solver at heart.
Karen has been married to her husband Gregg for 33 years, living in Longmont for 28 years where they raised their three children. The family also has a large Golden Retriever who brings them joy daily.
To advocate for families, health care, education, LGBTQ rights, reproductive rights, economic opportunity and the future of our planet Karen is now serving her 2nd term as Representative for House District 11.
